Fern Cottage

This quaint cottage was once the village police house and is tucked away behind the main village square. 

From the small cobbled yard, guests enter the property directly into the cosy lounge, complete with low ceiling, exposed beams and open fire with slate surround.  This is the theme throughout.

There is comfortable seating for four to sit and enjoy the TV & WiFi, perfect for relaxing in front of the real fire after a hard day's exploring in the Lake District. 

Moving through to the spacious kitchen/diner, there is a traditional farmhouse styled kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a dining table which is great for sharing family meals or playing a game. 

The narrow, twisting staircase leads from the lounge to the bedrooms.  Please note this is not suitable for anyone with more demanding mobility constraints.

On the first floor you will find the first cosy double bedroom with TV and en-suite shower and WC.  

Continue up the staircase to the top floor and you find the second bedroom, also displaying ancient oak beams and sloping ceilings, with TV, and en-suite shower and WC.  This is a quality zip-linked bed which can either be a King-sized double or twin beds.  Default is KS double so notice is required if it needs to be split into singles. 

The cottage is heated by electric radiators.  The fire will be laid and fuel provided for one fire.  After that, extra fuel can be purchased at the nearby COOP or Post Office.

Unloading is in the square and a parking permit is provided for the village Pay & Display car park.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
