This charming village rests in the heart of the English Lakes in the beautiful vale of Esthwaite amidst rolling hills, lakes and tarns.  There’s plenty to see and do.

Stroll through cobblestone streets and historic white-washed buildings, once the dwelling place and inspiration of the great poet William Wordsworth and writer and Beatrix Potter.  

Dip in and out of independent shops offering everything from hand-blown glass to Cumbrian delicacies. Visit the ancient church.  Warm up over a speciality tea and cake in a cosy cafe, or enjoy hearty home-cooked food and fine local ales in one of the four village pubs.
